About The Rested You

Hi, we are Rachel & Claudia

Rachel Brownbridge and Claudia Menger are the founders of The Rested You and are on a mission to make rest more accessible, and help people feel more rested, connected and whole. Through their yoga nidra facilitator training, workshops and retreats, and online membership they share their extensive knowledge and wisdom around yoga nidra, therapeutic movement, and nervous system support. Claudia specialises in feminine therapeutic yoga for transitions and rites of passage, while Rachel brings expertise in body literacy and functional movement.

Claudia is a yoga teacher and women's coach, specialised in therapeutic feminine yoga and yoga nidra. She believes in living and working, and practicing yoga, according to the seasons and cycles of life, and she’s passionate about the practice of rest - especially through yoga nidra.

Her first meeting with yoga nidra was in an ashram in Rishikesh, India, 12 years ago, during a one-year world trip with her husband. She had no idea what Nidra was at that time and was in awe of what happened during the practice in that warm shala next to the river Ganga. She left the yoga room feeling so light, joyful, calm, grounded and energised, all at the same time, and then knew this practice was going to be important for her.

She practiced with whatever recording she could get her hands on and was grateful that Yoga Nidra was an important part of her first 200-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training. It became her go-to practice during challenging times, especially during burnout, her three-year long fertility journey, after a traumatic birth and a pregnancy loss, and during the rollercoaster years of early motherhood.  She's forever grateful for the teachings of Uma Dinsmore-Tuli and Tracee Stanley.

In addition to dedicated yoga nidra classes, Claudia often infuses her therapeutic yoga classes for women with Yoga Nidra, and has created almost a hundred personalised Yoga Nidra recordings. Claudia is educated in traditional Hatha yoga, vinyasa, prenatal, postnatal, fertility, Nidra, yin and restorative yoga, and has completed courses on meditation, the pelvic floor, trauma, perinatal mental health, and grief. She’s also a holistic health coach specialising in menstrual cycle health.

Originally from the Netherlands, Claudia now lives in Oslo with her husband, son (7) and daughter (2).

Our Story..

How The Rested You came to be.

The Rested You was born from a shared passion for rest as a transformative practice. Co-founders Claudia Menger and Rachel Brownbridge brought together their years of experience in Yoga Nidra, movement, and well-being to create a space where rest is valued, practiced, and supported.

Through their personal and professional journeys, Claudia and Rachel saw the profound impact of rest on mental, emotional, and physical health. Witnessing the societal pressure to “keep going,” they envisioned The Rested You as a sanctuary to counteract burnout and exhaustion. Rooted in compassion, their offerings—including deep rest workshops, retreats, and a growing online membership—support individuals in cultivating a sustainable foundation of rest in their lives.

With a blend of intuitive practices, seasonal wisdom, and an ever-growing community, The Rested You invites participants to embrace rest as a radical and healing act.

Rachel is a compassionate, holistic guide, mentor and thought leader who works alongside you to fortify your mind body AND your intuition to offer a uniquely cohesive holistic practice.

She believes that by understanding how your thoughts and behaviours affect your well-being, you can alter your focus and create your desired reality.

Rachel discovered Yoga Nidra in 2018 while seeking a practice to support her during a stressful time when yoga and meditation no longer provided the relief she needed. Embracing a daily Yoga Nidra practice, she soon enrolled in Jana Roemer’s teacher training, marking the beginning of a profound personal transformation. Over two years, Rachel devoted herself primarily to Yoga Nidra, experiencing significant shifts in her mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Inspired by the power of rest, she reshaped her business, lifestyle, and creative work, producing some of her most impactful resources to support others during the pandemic.

In 2020, Rachel became a mentor and guide for trainees in Jana’s Yoga Nidra teacher training, helping new teachers grow in confidence and find their unique voice. Her practice continues to evolve, influenced by celebrated Yoga Nidra guides and thought leaders, including Tricia Hersey, who explores the link between rest and liberation. Rachel believes that rest is a vital, transformative tool for health and well-being.

In addition to being a Yoga Nidra facilitator, Rachel is a 500-hour LYT Yoga teacher and a certified Reiki practitioner, with a passion for addressing root causes and exploring human potential in the face of adversity. Her work is marked by clarity, authenticity, and a commitment to depth in a field often overwhelmed by superficial content. Her gentle communication style and dedication to creating soft, supportive spaces foster trust and inspire self-actualisation in those she guides.

Originally from the UK, Rachel now lives in the picturesque Norwegian mountains of Geilo with her partner, Mikkel, where they have built a home over the past decade.
